The topic of the webinar is "Citizen engagement". The webinar will be led by associate professor
Teemu Närvä from the University of Vaasa. He works as a project manager at the Levón
Institute for Management and Organizational Development. The students first look at videos and comics and
then there will be a discussion on how to get involved. These issues will be discussed during the webinar
- participant engagement. The aim of the discussion is about to getting attention of people and provide
them positive experience.
Fourth online GeoUS course for students and young researchers will continue this month. The topic of current webinar is "Responsible Research and Innovation". The webinar will be led by associate professor Ville Tuomi from University of Vaasa.

Given the current situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Czech Government’s and Rector’s orders (see below), it was decided to organize the GeoUS Kick-off meeting by teleconference and also to proceed with the GeoUS Opening Conference as ''web conference''. In this way given the circumstances, GeoUS project will start with planned activities.
VSB - Technical University of Ostrava coordinates the international project entitled “Geothermal Energy in Special Underground Structures” (GeoUS). The project is supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 program, the largest program to support research, development and innovation in the European Union.
We are pleased to announce that VSB – Technical University of Ostrava has launched a three-year project GeoUS (Geothermal Energy in Special Underground Structures) supported by the Horizon 2020 program. The aim of the project is to increase scientific excellence of VSB-TUO in geothermal energy by working alongside outstanding foreign workplaces such as German Fraunhofer Institute and the Finnish University of Vaasa.
