Her research is focused on mining hydrogeology, groundwater modelling applications and heat transport simulation. As a recognized expert, she participated in the modeling of heat dissipation in the rock massif around the future radioactive waste repository for State Office for Nuclear Safety. Within former projects she was dealing with optimisation of borehole thermal energy storage and BHE systems. Involvement in 18 national research projects (GACR, TACR, MPO, CBU), 7 international projects, 9 projects principal investigator. She published more than 100 papers in various journals and conference proceedings. Recently she is a member of Executive Committee of International Mine Water Asssociation.

doc. RNDr. Pavel Pospíšil, Ph.D.

Pavel Pospíšil, academic staff member and researcher at Department of Geotechnics and Underground Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering.

His research is focused on engineering geology, system analysis of rock applied as building stone, study of degradation of rock mass, utilization and storage of geothermal energy.

Total of 81 publications in journals and conference proceedings. Involvement in 9 national research projects (GACR, TACR, MPO, CBU), 3 international projects, co-author of 12 final research reports.

Dipl.-Ing. Dieter Weise

Studied mechanical engineering and design and drive technology at Chemnitz University of Technology from 2002 - 2007. He then started working as a scientist at Fraunhofer IWU Chemnitz in the Sheet Metal Forming and Basics department from May 2007. His focus is on incremental sheet metal forming and project management as well as international cooperation. He graduated from the Fraunhofer Leadership Academy in 2013 and was certified as a graduate engineer by the President of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, Prof.-Dr.-Ing. R. Neugebauer. In 2012 he received the "EFB-Projektpreis 2012" - European award of scientific excellence in the field of sheet metal forming awarded by European Research Association for Sheet Metal Working. His interests are energy efficiency, efficiency in housing/architecture, efficiency improvement in production and forming technologies - esp. prototyping. His research competences are system analysis and multi-parametric evaluation in mechanical engineering, design and manufacturing of prototypes and production planning with different manufacturing technologies.

M.Sc. Sebastian Rink

Sebastian Rink is the Scientific Information Manager at Fraunhofer IWU. Thus, it is his responsibility to ensure the optimal information supply for more than 600 scientists. Furthermore, he is in charge of the publication process from start to finish, i.e. from proposal submission and research to review and archiving. Thus, he receive various questions on a daily basis, for example about the process in general, about various research tools, but also about the selection of suitable journals and the associated (copyright) legal issues. He really enjoy supporting their scientists in their research work. Before joining the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, He worked for one of the leading development service providers in the German automotive industry and can therefore draw on a wide range of experience from research and industry.

M.Sc. J. Birgitta Martinkauppi, D.Sc. (Tech.)

Assistant Professor, School of Technology and Innovations, Energy Technology, Renewable Energy Group University of Vaasa (UVA). She manages geothermal renewable energy storages, modelling, simulation, analysis and implementation as well as control, monitoring and IoT related issues.

Anne Mäkiranta, D.Sc. (Tech.), M.Sc.(Econ.)

Since 2012 she has been working as project researcher, doctoral student and university teacher at the School of Technology and Innovations, Energy Technology, Renewable Energy Research Group, University of Vaasa (UVA). She has a qualifications of Vocational teacher (60 ECTS). Her expertise is shallow geothermal energy. She has experience in DTS (distributed temperature sensing) measurements (implementation of method at UVA), TRT-measurements (assisting in sites) and management of geothermal energy related projects. Her research interests are in Urban energy (asphalt heat, sediment heat, waste heat) and Thermal energy storage.

Ville Tuomi

Ville Tuomi is Associate Professor at the University of Vaasa in the field of Industrial Management at the School of Technology and Innovations. He is working in the Digital Economy Research Platform. He is also Head of Industrial Management Programme. Tuomi has PhD in Industrial Management, MSc in Public Administration as well as teacher education. Main research interests at the moment are related to intelligent production, innovations and sustainability issues, like the use of renewable energy.
